Destrium

I haven't posted in a little while because I've becoming increasingly busy with a number of projects. I've been putting a lot of work into the next couple Psykkle albums. Around 7 tracks so far for the next album, and bunch of lyrical concepts for the concept album.

I've also become more involved with Syndicate Alpha, the gaming company that I'm doing audio for. We're working on our first game entitled, Destrium, and we're getting dangerously close to a working beta, which means more focus has to be put the audio identity of the game. Been working out ideas for the actual sound design as well as the music.

Brutal Resonance Review of Rock Bottom Paradise

The same day that the review of [Product]'s "I Hope You Choke" EP was put up on Brutal Resonance, I found a review of Rock Bottom Paradise posted not even an hour later.

They gave Rock Bottom Paradise an 8/10, which I was pretty pumped to see. There are a few things in the article that do need clarification.

At one point in the review, it talks of Bitch Brigade being on the track "Fake". This is incorrect. She is only featured on "Massacre The Loved". The confusion stemmed from a typo I made on the album credits on the bandcamp page. And secondly [and personally I don't really think it needs clarification] Yes Sabine is a full time member of Psykkle

A Dark Figure

Just recently I did an interview with the blog A Dark Figure that was started by Michael of [Product]. It's a pretty decent blog so far, even though its really new. Lots of good interviews and reviews so far.

A while we're talking about [Product], Brutal Resonance also did a review of his new EP "I Hope You Choke" and gave it a 9/10.

Freedie Friday [X-Mas Edition]

I've once again been falling behind in doing the freebie fridays. I have been crazy busy in the studio as of late, working on both of the next Psykkle albums, working on putting out some material with my side-project, Serenity Cell, as well as a video game soundtrack.

But with Christmas just a couple days away, I found this to be the perfect opportunity to share this with you.

A couple years back, the local Edmonton industrial musicians put together a charity xmas album. We had artists like Virtual Terrorist, Chaos Theory, Seb Komor, and Static Sun [now iVardensphere]. I chose to do a cover of Hark, The Herald Angels Sing, but a tad more sinister [obviously]. We did a live show, sold a very limited run of hand made CDs, and all the money we raised went to The Stollery Children's Hospital, here in Edmonton.

The production is pretty rough compared to recent material, but hopefully you enjoy it regardless.

This time we got a really dope remix of Methods of Pain, by our friend Mangadrive. He just released a new album recently called, Artifice, and I highly recommend you pick up a copy.

Syndicate Alpha

Just this past week, I joined the Syndicate Alpha Software team as their main music producer and audio artist. We're currently developing a couple games with a current team of 9 extremely talented programmers, and digital artists.

Right now everything is still under wraps involving the 2 video games that are currently under development, but we will have news to post soon.

[Product] is now releasing the "BACKCATALOGUE", which includes placement [2008] and reassignment [2009] in full, as well as 3 previously unreleased remixes by Psykkle and Reakt[ion], and a live version of Ensemble Of Sirens from The Hawthorne Theatre [originally feat. on “…And The Connection Fails.”] All tracks were left unmastered, and in their original raw form. This will be available in physical form only directly from the artist, there will not be a digital version released.

After about 3 years in the making, I am amazed to be able to say, Rock Bottom Paradise will be released online on October 29 and will be available on our bandcamp page. Physical copies will be available shortly after the digital release.

I started writing the album while I was still writing The Parthian Shot, and wrote close to 2 or 3 albums worth of music, but it all sounded the same, and nothing really jumped out at me. After working with Sabine on a remix, I found the missing element that my music needed. When we were recording the track Welcome To Paradise, she joined Psykkle full time as a vocalist, and primary lyricist. After spending more time writing, changing, and scrapping tracks, we had a finalized album. Complete with contributions from Sinsect, Bitch Brigade, and Virtual Terrorist.

I just finished up my remix for Distorted Memory, which will be included on the second disc of his upcoming "Archive" album along side God Module, Iszoloscope, DYM, and more. Be sure to get your dirty little hands on the album as soon as you are able too.

I also did a remix for Acylum's "Your Pain v2.0" remix contest, and am happy to say that its one of the finalists. Whether or not it will be included on Acylum's newest release is yet to be seen. But that should be revealed in the next few days.

Off to a slow start...

I'm determined not to let this page die as a result of lack of new posts, so that being said, we are in kind of a slow time right now. Album is completed, and awaiting release. I'm taking on a couple remix projects, and just working out all the fine little details on things.

Hopefully we'll have something important to share soon. But in the mean time check out the audio section of our page. I've uploaded some of my favorite tracks from the Burning The Road To Paradise EP, and a couple of remixes I did for Post Death Soundtrack.
